Advocating For Children In Colorado
CCA is uniquely positioned to advocate for public policy that helps support children in Colorado.
Why This Work Is Important
Our mission is to support child advocacy centers and the work they do to help children heal from abuse. A key piece of that work is ensuring they have the support they need at the State Capitol. CCA acts as the unified voice of all 19 centers with legislators, making sure our elected officials understand the critical work CACs do and the resources they need to support children.
By advocating for stronger protections for CACs and MDTs, CCA supports the unique needs of our members and strengthens the communities we serve.
Our Advocacy Priorities
Our advocacy work is guided by a few key principles that help us determine where to focus our efforts.
CAC Support
We believe every child should have access to CAC services after abuse, and our CACs need Colorado’s support to do this.
Healthy Childhoods
All children should have a safe and healthy childhood. We support policies that promote children’s physical, mental, and emotional health.
Child Protection
The safety of child victims is a priority of CCA, and we support policies that ensure children are safe at home and in their communities.
Child Abuse Prevention
We want to stop victimization before it occurs. We support policies that increase child abuse prevention education for both adults and children statewide.
